Update on my Job!

Hi All,

I have a new update on my life. After working for approx year and a half, I have left codingKIDZ.

The reason I left was that I found a better opportunity at the moment and am finding growth into going in CS Education Full-Time. My new job is to work as a technology teacher with an awesome school in Brooklyn,NY - The New American Academy Charter School.

My blog hence now is going to take a big turn in being one of those teacher blogs who share their experiences but mine is going to be more on the side of planning and working towards getting a perfect curriculum from K-12. See more on updates.

Thanks!

Aditya..

My work as an Instructor

This post is on my work.

The things that I do to earn living (however small it is!)

My Work As A Coding Instructor.

So.. The company is Coding Kidz, Inc.. fondly and affectionately called as codingKIDZ .. As some people pointed me out as Kids with a 'Z' ..

I started working in March 2016 just a week after my birthday. I was a bit reluctant to join the technology education industry for many reason,
A. Too unknown to an engineer.
B. Too saturated.
C. Too much of talk and talk..
D ......
The List goes on and on.. But then I wanted the job and had some employment visa constraints so had to take it ! (But till this day never regretted taking the job!)

I've got this job through a referral by a wonderful women, whose son I was tutoring to code at that time. The tutoring was too satisfying to know that, what you've taught this person is gonna surely help him in his future. The stories and adventures of my tutoring would follow in some later blog post.

With that experience I surely thought of giving it a shot!

So coming back to work as an Instructor- I joined this company, with me as an only instructor with the CEO who was well ambitious for taking this company to a great height. Me and him would go to  different schools and teach them coding in after-school programs.

My first few experiences with the classes were more of a learning opportunity for me as well, as it gave me an insight on how I should teach and tackle my methodology when communicating with young adults.

The instructor who is our CEO, helped me a lot in shaping my teaching methodology and also in "lowering" my stance when I dealt with kids too young to do coding.

After a few sessions I was all into it, and the growth which he was envisioning in his mind also started to reveal itself in form of additional classes. With one class in one school, we quickly in a six month span had multiple classes in 4 different schools! When I saw the pace and potential in this area of service, I felt that tech-education has shown itself to me as a lucrative opportunity.

This blog was made to share and write about my experiences in life and teaching would be then a major chapter to it. Do look forward for few of my posts on my teaching experiences.

The only reason me staying with them after a span of nine months and not moving to other organizations is that - I find a potential in codingKIDZ, as well as when I come home from a tiring day there is always a smile of accomplishment when I go to bed. This smile would suffice for all the hardships which are faced in my life to succeed.

Do what you want in life, the money would follow you eventually - ðŸ•¶

There were many new incidences in my life and today I am gonna share a good one.

My Trip with my parents to NE-America.  ðŸšŒ

As the last blog was all about my parents coming here for graduation, this blog is going to emphasize on their stay here.

They were here to attend the graduation ceremony -  their much awaited, and mine much dreaded.

So, to recap this, I had 2 ceremonies, one on 18th and one on 23rd of May 2016.
These folks arrived on 17th of May, the left on 30th, So had nice 13-14 days to enjoy.

I just have had done with the course exam(Yep the same course in which I previously was unsuccessful!) on 15th, and was in slumber coz I had to stay awake for almost 40 hours to study.

My room was a mess and my house was gonna be full of people, I was tired and just went to sleep.. I woke up got ready and I was late at the airport!!! My parents were fuming with rage, and I knew how was this trip gonna be!!! - a nightmare for me (It was not eventually.)

The next day we went in for my graduation at Yankees - pics attached in the previous blog! It was fun, exuberayting, tiring, and full of flowing emotions.

The next day was a much needed break, as I wanted to get out of my exam mode. I gad some office work to finish on Friday so I was out alone, this is a time my parents started getting anxious, as they were in states for 3 days and have just gone out on a day!!! - I was in trouble.

We then as promised, went to the Brooklyn Promenade, The Bridge and WTC - World Trade One Observatory on Saturday.

On Sunday the Newport Waterfront and Mall, with Monday being my other graduation ceremony -

Mon 23rd - Graduation at Barclays' + Washington Sq Pk + At my old internship place.

The Next day I made them stay at home and we got all our stuff packed for our Tour.
